Stefan Aronsen is a colorblind graphic designer. His work is effective and influential through innovative layout, texture, and media, with color serving as accent rather than focus. The method becomes the design, with blueprint remnants, t-shirts, and everyday objects, all fair game in his interpretation of contemporary graphic design.
Charles Kruger surprised himself and delighted the art world by learning to paint in his fifties. He wrestles with the problem of bringing the interior consciousness out into the physical world. His acrylic paintings are richly evocative, moody and layered, influenced in equal parts by his love for literature and his Benedictine ...spirituality.
Robert Ramos addresses the absence of structured art in rural America by bringing his art to the countryside. His 53² diameter red dots adorn barns and outbuildings in 17 states across the country. His whimsical, colorful style is woven throughout his abstract art, with jigsaw puzzles as a central motif.
Ian Tuttle creates photographic images that simmer like fallible, living memories rather than static prints. Eschewing modern digital photography methods, he uses a giveaway toy camera and medium-format film to produce dream-like, provocative images. With their low-fidelity imperfections they recall real life, humanly lived.
