About Me ARTIST STATEMENT

Initially trained as a ceramist, I have been working with encaustic for the past five years now which provides me with similar tactile qualities while allowing for more immediate expression. And I get to enjoy the smell of beeswax all day long! I am currently interested in the Tree of Life and its various cultural interpretations. Additionally, I was lucky enough to purchase a bunch of old maps from UC Berkeley's geo sciences department which has proven to be a treasure trove of world exploration for me.
